Happy First Contact Day!
Everyone knows what will happen on April 5, 2063, a mere forty-one years from now.
Zephram Cochrane will make the first successful warp flight, drawing the notice of a Vulcan ship, which will land in Montana to investigate, where Cochrane (despite the Borg attempts to prevent him—foiled by Captain Picard and crew visiting from the future) will be the first to encounter an alien race on Earth; he will make First Contact with a Vulcan!
While we wait, naturally we celebrate the event in advance. It’s pretty cool that we are so close to actually touching the events of the Star Trek Universe.
So, celebrate First Contact Day by binge-watching your favorite episodes of the series, or all the movies, or reading as many of the novels as you can.
Or check out WMG’s space opera series by (former Star Trek) writers Dean Wesley Smith and Kristine Kathryn Rusch. There is Dean’s Seeders Universe, at least partly inspired by Star Trek’s humanoid aliens, with an upcoming new novel Rescue Two, and Kristine Kathryn Rusch’s thrilling Diving Universe and her un-put-downable Retrieval Artist Universe. All of these series are packed with many hours of edge-of-your-seat, award-winning reading!
